Melbourne to Perth by road?

mark..its a big trip....get the car roadworthy..good spare tyres (2)..run them at correct pressures..check them each day..spare everything sounds over the top but the more you carry the better..out past Ceduna thers not much until Norseman..things like fan belt..plugs..coolant..etc..little things but can bring your trip to a halt quickly...if you dont mind campimg out you wil find plenty spots along way..but then have to carry camp gear..up to you...good way is phone/book ahead for overnight caravan ...have shower..laundry etc...so get car ready..decide on stop overs n organise...join your local roadside assist maybe...most follow around oz...have a yarn with them they have different packages....as for the journey may i suggest Great Ocean Road to Mt.gambier.....leave early..5:30 beat the traffic..day 1...Mt .G to Murray Bridge...via Naracoorte n Keith...day 2...MB in to Adelaide ( a city is a city) then up to Pt Augausta...day 3. (if you have no need to go to Adelaide a quicker way is up along the Murray to Morgan then across to Burra then Port Pirie..Port Augusta)..day 4...from here civilization starts to thin out some...head over to Ceduna ...plenty fuel etc so far..but from Ceduna on carry at least 10 litres fuel AND 10 --20 liters drinking water.....NO HITCHIKERS FROM HERE ON ..!!!..have a rest day in CEduna at the beach etc..gonna need it...day 5 & 6..from her you face the Nullarbor...plenty petrol etc last decent overnite accomadation is at Eucla...cops will check you out alomg the way here somewheres...across the nulla thers a stretch of hwy that is 145 ks ..no bends..dead straight..be prepared..nothing out here ..cept for maybe roos..wombats..camels..wedgetails (at roadkills)..try not to travel at night out here..give the big rig semi's a fair go as well..up to about a week or so to Norseman..so far...turn right to Coolgardie then left for Perth...get there no dramas ..did well...drive to live...get out for a walk every 2--3 hours...wild life starts to move around 4:30 pm onwards..get a good road map...book .....google maps ....google SA n WA tourism...caravan parks..motels...enjoy...its a journey...like life,...PS...if you just want toget there without going thr Adelaide go up to Mildura then across to Renmark then Morgan then Burra....still a good run...either way.....................................…
