Perth photojournalism?

hi i need to do an assignment on photojournalism and i need good places around perth and perth city that i can really capture something that is different and unique. i was wanting to go out and take picture on the 25/6/11 around the morning and afternoon. are there any carnivals that i can go to or some great places to go to. also what about in Fremantle where can i get god photos with people in it that have a meaning and a story to it than you that would be great help
